MANAGING MEDIA NEW AND OLD

Check out Lawdragon.com and the digital version our industry-leading print magazine to view projects I’ve managed from start to finish.

GUANTANAMO BAY

My main reporting focus since the fall of 2015 has been the military commissions system and related legal issues at Guantanamo Bay.

I have authored dozens of articles on these topics, including more than 50 on the ongoing prosecution against the five men accused of planning the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

My book, “America’s Trial: Torture and the 9/11 Case on Guantanamo Bay,” based on eight years of in-person reporting on the U.S. Naval Base, is now available for presale.

You can check out my Guantanamo reporting for Lawdragon, as well as an article I did for Mic. In May 2019, I won a New York Press Club Award for my coverage of the Sept. 11 case at Guantanamo. In 2021, I was a finalist for a best news article award from the Society of Professional Journalist’s New York Chapter, The Deadline Clue.

GLOBAL JUSTICE

My Guantanamo coverage actually flowed out of my reporting and writing on international and transitional justice mechanisms for mass atrocities and human rights violations, which was the topic of my self-designed MA at New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study.

You can read some of these articles or peruse a compendium of my feature work.

YOU NAME IT

As the editor of a legal publication and the creator of Lawdragon's "Lawyer Limelight" Q&A series, I regularly interview leading practitioners and write about important topics of the day.

I’ve recently talked to folks about defending corporations and individuals in litigation, suing corporations in litigation, working on #MeToo cases, and handling a pro bono death penalty appeal, to name just a small sampling of topics.
